Show & Tell Thursday!
Amidst everything else going on I was able to finish the table runner and I'm excited to show it off! This is my first batik project and I love how it turned out.
I decided to free motion quilt the diamond pattern that I learned from the Dot to Dot Quilting class that I took on Craftsy. Of course, the best laid plans are always the first get derailed. I used King Tut variegated thread by Superior Threads. I've used it in the past but for whatever reason I kept having skipped stitches. I tried rethreading, rewinding the bobbin, different speeds, and playing around with the tension, all to no avail. In the end only half of the diamond patterns were done free-motion. The other half were done using my walking foot. Surprisingly, I could still quilt them almost as quickly as the others (since there wasn't the bother of stopping, ripping out skipped stitches, etc.) and I couldn't even tell you which ones were done free motion and which ones weren't. I'd consider that a win.

ReplyDeleteLovely batik table runner. Awesome quilting!
ReplyDeleteNice! I've had trouble like that with some threads before. In almost every case a new needle has fixed it right up. :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely a win when you can overcome things like that and still love the finished result! It is really pretty and the colors are so rich and warm.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up to Needle and Thread Thursday!
