About Me

Hi! I'm Diana and I am married to a wonderful man whose love of amusement parks has given us many adventures together. He is the one who gave me the nickname "Red Delicious" and where I got the inspiration for my blog title. We have a soon to be 7-year-old son who always keeps us on our toes.

I have a masters degree in theater design and production - specifically stage management and I was lucky enough to work professionally in New York City and in regional theaters across the country for over 10 years. Ever since I was little, I've always had a creative streak and a need to create things! I no longer spend my time backstage, instead opting to work in guest services at an amazing theater arts facility in downtown Orlando. I work mostly evenings and weekends which allows me to volunteer at my son's school and quilt during the day. It's the perfect balance of work and home.

Quilting is a fairly new endeavor for me but like anything I decide to put my mind to, it becomes an obsession to learn as much as possible and develop new skills. I made my first quilt (Puppy Patchwork) back in August of 2012. I just made up a pattern as I went along based on a cute fabric I found with puppies on it. I had it all pieced together in a matter of days and it sat for 4 months waiting for me to get up the nerve to quilt it myself. I got a new sewing machine that Christmas (a BabyLock Symphony) which had all the bells and whistles for me to tackle the job. With a little bit of practice, I was free motion quilting in no time and completed my son's quilt in January of 2013. I've been plugging away ever since.

Me and my Red Delicious family --

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet and I hope you to see you back soon.

  1. I just read the story about the special Brown Bear Quilt. I am an early intervention case manager and am amazed by the special preschool teachers that I send my 3 year olds off to at work. I wish you and your family the very best.

  2. Diana, it's so nice to "meet" you AND your redheaded life! From one redhead to another, happy quilting!

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I love hearing from my readers. I typically respond directly to your email unless it's an answer that I think everyone would be interested in hearing. If you are a no-reply blogger (and I know that blogger doesn't play nice with other blogging platforms!), I will reply directly on my website. Thanks for stopping by!
