Creative Quilt Labeling

Since finishing my Compass Quilter's top I've been pondering the best way to make my label and give credit to all the other wonderful quilters who contributed to it. At the start of the bee, we all decided that it would be a good idea to include a 5" block with our name and location to whomever was queen that month. It sounded great in theory but it posed a few issues for me. First, I only received 2 signature blocks. Second, now that it's finished and smaller than I planned I really didn't want to piece together 8 blocks into the backing. So, what to do...

Why not just one string block, similar to those on the front, but with white space in the center for the name of the bee, and then all the block makers in the white border?  Yes, I think this will do nicely.

WIP Wednesday - Stash Bee Style

Another month, another Stash Bee block in the books. And another paper-pieced block, I might add. Thanks to this bee I'm getting lots of good practice with paper piecing.

I'll be sending this off to Heather at Hot Pink Thread later this week. I hope she likes it!

Compass Quilters Flimsy

After 5 months of having these blocks up on my design wall, I finally pieced them all together. These are the blocks I received from my Compass Quilter bee-mates.

I'll admit, it wasn't out of any burning desire to finish this WIP. To be honest, it was because I needed my design wall back for a new project that I just started earlier this week. So now I just need to decide whether or not to add any borders or keep it like it is. Staying motivated enough to get it quilted and bound would also be a plus but I'm going to be realistic for a change.
